Last year the Abuse Bites Team started a Walk n Talk Across Michigan. The walk began in July, at the state's capitol, in Lansing, and made big headlines. The entire team was interviewed by TV crew and various newspapers. more

They raised their own funding through obtaining sponsors, then drove to various cities throughout Michigan and walked through parks, along beaches, and city streets to raise awareness on bullying and their educational programs to stop abuse, bullying and violence in entire communities. more
This year, Abuse Bites, is offering a local walk/run that's open to the public/ people of all ages. "And you can even bring your pooch for the walk part of the race if you like," Lisa Freeman, says.
The walk will be done to honor all victims of abuse and bullying, as well as Freeman's son, Brian, who died last year from a rare heart disease. Due to scarring from numerous surgeries and having Asperger's Syndrome he was bullied all through life. Yet he lived life to the fullest, learning in his short life what take most people a lifetime to master, how to love and forgive those that hurt him. He passionately worked with the Abuse Bites program until his dying day to educate others and help victims. RIP BRIAN 6/27/88 to 8/10/10. Read More
